If you haven't read the "Faith and Family" section of this week's issue of the Owasso Reporter then you need to go get your copy today. They added a great write-up about us and what God is doing in our lives. The News Editor interviewed us last week and did an excellent job of getting our heart and passion across in the article. It includes our vision for the future church plant and our willingness to go spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. However, in the early online edition (and printed edition) we are referred to as the Saucedases instead of the Saucedas. Which is a very minor mistake given the fact that nearly every teacher in school either mispronounced or misspelled my name once or twice.
But our Texas family and friends have really enjoyed the other mistake in the article.
See if you can find it.
Pastor Craig Vire at Bethesda was the first to email me his thoughts. He said he was very grateful that Burleson's "hometown boy" was having some success outside of his home state of Texas. I assured him that I was actually born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but others quickly notified me that they thrilled to know that I was a fellow Texan. After explaining the mistake they mostly aggreed that they would have liked me more if I was indeed from Texas. Well...sorry. It is what it is.
Now don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to complain about the newspaper article at all. Honestly, I should have been more clear about the Texas thing, but since this Wednesday we have received many more emails and inquiries about what we are doing because of the publicity that the newspaper has given us. Go, Owasso Reporter! Go!
And you might be wondering if they got the information correct on how people can donate financially. The answer would be yes! If you still haven't given and would like to help us out, then please prayerfully consider giving a gift. We are still very much in need.
After the early edition was printed, I read it and asked the editor to make some changes. I knew they wouldn't reprint the article, but I figured they could still edit the online article on their website. They did and we are all very pleased with it. On Thursday, Becky and I drove to the Owasso Reporter office to pick up a physical copy of the paper and was greeted by their very happy News Editor. He had a big smile on his face and told us that the article was very popular. He explained that on average a well-written online article will receive 5 to 10 recommended shares on social network sites. But our article had received over 300! As of today, Saturday May 28, the article has had over 427 recommended shares on Facebook alone! As I left his office, he told me that they are interested in doing a follow-up story. Praise God! People are sharing our story and in turn are sharing the story of Jesus! After we left that office, we felt very grateful.
So I just wanted to say:
-Thank you all so much for reminding us that we are not alone.
-Thank you so much for emailing us your prayers.
-Thank you so much for sharing.
-Thank you so much for loving us and loving God.

P.S. DaVco has a great deal on an A/C Tune-up...just saying.
